Special Olympics: 2014 USA Games / Caucus: Up Close 4/19/14

The Special Olympics USA games will be hosted by New Jersey during June of 2014. 3500 athletes will compete in 16 sports with the support of thousands of people. There are 3 main goals the SONJ is seeking to accomplish – host a world class competition for 16 sports; let everyone not currently involved in the Games see and feel the magic of the Special Olympics; and raise $20 million. Guests: TJ Nelligan, Chairman & CEO, 2014 Special Olympics USA Games/ Chairman & CEO, Nelligan Sports Marketing; Ellen W. Lambert, Chief Diversity Officer, PSEG; Sharon Allen & Aaron Allen,Mother of Aaron who is a Special Olympics Athlete. Michael Strusiak, NJ Sharing Network Volunteer and Transplant Recipient, was in failing health with renal cancer six years ago before receiving a kidney and pancreas transplant. Michael received his donated organs from Kristen O’Hara, a high school student who was killed in a car accident. Her legacy lives on in Mike and all the recipients whose lives Kristen has touched.
