Examining the Benefits of Planning End of Life Care

Part of our Future of Healthcare series, according to the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care Report, New Jersey is ranked lower than any other state in the nation in the use of hospice and palliative care. These options are available, but are often not utilized because of cost and lack of communication between a loved one and the patient. This panel brings together four experts to examine the issues facing individuals at the end of their life, the benefits of planning end of life care and the importance of reclaiming dying peacefully.

Guests Include:
Charles Vialotti, MD, Medical Director, Villa Marie Claire Residential Hospice
Senator Paul A. Sarlo (D)- NJ, Chairman, Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee
Bob Orozovich, Volunteer at Villa Marie Claire & Brother of Villa Marie Claire Patient
Katherine Taylor, JD, Ph.D., Board Member, Goals of Care Coalition of New Jersey
