"Hi I'm Steve Adubato. More importantly, this is Right From the Start NJ, an ongoing series of programs, but it's so much more than that. It's a campaign, it's an initiative, to talk about the things that affect infants and toddlers, and also prenatal care as well. What about those babies? What about those infants? What about their child care? Whose responsibility is it? A lot of people watching right now say, "Why is this a societal issue? Why is it a state issue? Why is it a national issue?" Well this series, Right From the Start, is focused on providing valuable information for you, for parents, for people who are involved in the lives of infants and children. Throughout this program you're going to see a website. That website has advocacy, educational research, resource material that you're going to need, and we've brought together an extraordinary group of experts, parents, advocates, people who are involved in the lives of infants and toddlers every day. And so without doing formal introductions, we're actually going to get right into this conversation as part of our Right From the Start NJ series. And I encourage you to go on that site to get that information. And so what I want to do is kick off... Joe... we were doing a one on one, Joe Della Fave, who actually is involved with the Ironbound Community Organization, you folks actually run an extensive quality child care center. Why is a series like Right From the Start NJ so important? Particularly right now? Steve, I think it's really important that people understand what an investment in high quality care and education for infants and toddlers can do for those children, particularly children from impoverished families that need the additional support, close developmental gaps, learn English, move them to a point of learning where they're ready for not only preschool, but eventually Kindergarten.
